How to Play Texas Hold Em Well
Here are some basic rules to help you get started playing the primary most popular poker game used in casinos and homes everywhere
Texas Hold'em consists of the following: The Blind, The Hole Card, The Flop, The Turn, The River, and The Showdown. Dealers never play in Texas Hold'em so a marker is used to designate a dealer during game play. The designated dealer is the person to the right of the actual dealer, and is moved clockwise during each game play. The small is posted by the player to the left of the dealer and the big blind is posted by the player to the left of the small blind player. Each game the the small and big blind posters are moved clockwise, with the big blind player becoming the small blind player during the next game play, and the person to the left of them now becomes the big blind player. (All bets placed are started with the first active player to the left of the dealer once hole cards are dealt.)
The Blind consists of the small blind and the big blind. The big blind is equal to the minimum amount set for the table play. The small blind is either one half or one third of big blind. For instance if the minimum amount set for the table is four dollars, then big blind posted would be four dollars and the small blind would be round two dollars.
The Hole Card are cards that are dealt face down to each player with the small blind player receiving the first card. Betting ensues using half of table minimum.
The Flop cards are three cards dealt in the middle of table face up. These are considered community cards, once these are dealt betting begins once again using half of table minimum.
The Turn is a fourth card dealt face up in middle of the table. Table minimum is used during betting after the turn card is dealt.
The River is the fifth and final card dealt face up in the middle of the table. Final betting is done using table minimum.
The Showdown is where the winner is determined by using the combination of the two hole cards dealt to players and the five community cards. In some cases the best hands are made by the community cards. If this happens the pot is split among all active players.
